Stacy Andrews: You know, maybe you need tocheck it out, because I was this close from going to getting surgery up in Memphis, man.And I got here, got in with Currie, got in with you guys and it's been home from thereman, been getting in to treatments everyday and I started around a eight and now I'm ata zero, and it's been a blessing.
Roosevelt: Well, I came to your becauseI'd read in the paper the magnificent work that was being done and I had to check itout for myself. I was dealing with severe pain in my lower back, especially as I walkabout a quarter of a block, and now, the pain has subsided, and I'm walking much freelier, and I'm just enjoying it. It's a good thing to participate in. Derrick: Ten being the highest. I mean, itwas severely hurting, and now I'm at a zero. I've had a lot of pain before, down both legs.Wound up having surgery about 10 years ago. Still hurt after surgery, not near as bad,but still hurt. Then did something else. Don't
know what happened but still severe pain onmy left side, this time. So I came here. Almost instant relief on my first treatment. It tooka little bit and then it got better and better and better. The first day when I came, I wasfilling out paperwork, talked with the Currie. Even one of his staff members, oneof his nurses, seen I was hurting, and she did something to help me. I mean, right thenand there. So, I highly recommend it, highly. I been coming here, I'm almost done with allmy treatments, and I feel better than I've felt in 10 years, from the first time I hurtmy back. So, I highly recommend coming here and giving it a try.
Mr. Cranfill: Well, I heard on TV that I couldget some relief from this and I called to make an appointment and he helped me thevery first time. I just couldn't believe how much relief I got. I got where I could turnmy head both ways. I couldn't even turn it to left when I came and after one treatmentI could. I go dancing on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night and before I couldn't hardlydance. And since I've started taking these treatments, I can dance a lot longer. I mean,it don't bother me, it don't hurt to dance like it did. I'm doing so much better. Ryan: Immediately for me. I felt a differencein the effectiveness of the laser. A little
bit about my history, I had back surgery afew years ago and suffered with a lot of numbness and loss of feeling in my extremities, specificallymy feet. I would recommend that they come and check it out. I actually work with someonewho has back issues and I already mentioned you to them. They don't live in the area buttold them that just, you know, from what I've seen so far, it's a very, very direct approach, very open, very transparent. I feel very comfortable coming in and sharing the feedback on whatI've seen so far so I've already made some recommendations actually. Winnie: It really helped me. The bones feltso good after laser, and it helped me very
Small Fiber Neuropathy Symptoms Diagnosis and Treatment
Small fiber neuropathy is really an interestingcondition because it consists typically of just burning, numbness, pain of the feet, sometimes the hands later on without necessarily having any abnormalities on your EMG or nerveconduction study. So what I tell patients and actually residents or students who trainunder us is that a normal nerve conduction study does not exclude a neuropathy. And wewill confirm this by doing additional testing, specifically the nervous the the examinationat the bedside asking patients about their symptoms, for example, loss of sensation tocool or or hot temperatures, loss of pain sensation and also doing skin biopsies wherewe look at nerve densities in the skin both
from the calf and the thigh as well as doinga special test that looks at sweat function both in your foot in in the legs as well asthe feet to gauge the level of small fiber nerve damage. Small fiber neuropathy typicallywill progress unless the underlying cause is identified and reversed. Diabetes of coursebeing the most common cause is always screened for. But once the more common causes are excludedand the focus becomes on excluding any underlying secondary disease process but also controllingpain because if patients' symptoms of pain are generally controlled they tend to do prettywell and really have no other major functional deficits. I've really become interested overthe years is how interconnected neurology
and rheumatology are and one thing I oftendo on patients who have unexplained small fiber even autonomic neuropathy is have themsee rheumatology or get evaluated for connective tissue disorders like lupus or Sjogren's orsarcoid and sometimes even if we are not directly involved in treating the patients, this canbe the first sign of an underlying connective tissue disorder that can then be brought tothe attention of rheumatology and addressed from their standpoint.
