Another association that doesn't make sensebut here it is anyway next… Erosive Hand OA May Be Associated With Diabetes.Nancy Walsh writingMedpage Today reported that according to a study publishedthejournal Arthritis Care Research, “diabetes was strongly associated with hand pain andjoint tendernesspatients with erosive hand osteoarthritis (OA).� The 530patientanalysis revealed that “pain as measured on the AustralianCanadian (AUSCAN) hand painscale was associated with diabetes among patients who had one or more joints with central erosionsdetected radiographically.� In addition, there was “a strong association betweendiabetes and the number of hand joints that

were tender on palpation, but again only inpatients with erosive disease. Comment: Well there it is… not sure whatto make of it.
